Get started
on a Solar Photovoltaic system

Here are some things you will need to know when you contact us:

  • Your last year’s history of electrical usage. It’s helpful to have this information in a month-by-month format. This would be on your utility bills in KiloWatt Hours (kWh). If you don’t have all your previous bills or have just moved in, don’t worry. Your utility should be able to provide this information.

  • An idea of where you would want PV panels on your property. A South-facing rooftop area is best, away from any present or future shading.

  • Your roofing material and it’s condition. Although it’s feasible, you don’t want to have to remove the PV array in a year or two just to replace your roofing. This is usually not a big worry, but if your roof is in bad shape, you will want to repair it first.

  • Your present electrical service: Where the service panel is and it’s age and size. If you’re not sure, that’s okay. Just give us an idea of the age of your home and where the panel is and we’ll go from there.

  • Your budget. Installing a PV system falls into the category of remodel construction. Many homeowners get a Home Equity loan to cover costs. Remember, just having a PV system will raise the value of your property and for every dollar you reduce your annual utility bill, your home’s value increases by twenty.

  • What you want from a PV system. Do you need a system that will provide all your electrical energy, or just a percentage? Do you want battery backup? Are you totally off-grid? We will design your system to meet your needs, budget, and location.

Give us a call

Contact us. We will gladly answer any questions you have and discuss price, rebates & incentives, what you can expect from your system, and what you can expect from us. We will help you through the whole process, start to finish, for years of trouble-free service and maintenance.

We Evaluate your Site

The next step is to evaluate your property. We will visit your site and identify the locations that are suitable for your array. We will inspect your electrical service and review your usage. We will make recommendations for saving energy if possible, thus reducing the necessary PV system size and cost. Then we will take measurements and develop estimates for your review and selection.

Our estimates include information such as:

  • System size, efficiency, and location
  • Pricing for permitting, design, materials, and installation
  • Economic Analysis including annualized energy savings, payback period, costs, rebates & incentives, and return on investment (ROI)
  • Warranties
  • Optional maintenance contracts available to you.

You Initiate the Project

Decide on the design estimate that you like best and we’ll get started. When you sign our contract and we receive your 15% deposit, we begin right away by filing for your rebate and building permits. We will help to obtain approval from your HOA, if necessary. We present you with an expected construction schedule and progress payment requirements. Typically, a PV system installation takes 1-3 months from start to finish.

We Install the PV System

Another 35% deposit is due when the materials are delivered to your site. We will then complete the installation and arrange for the county inspection.

Utility Commissions Your System

Upon inspection, the utility will install a new meter and issue your rebate check. If you prefer, we can collect your check for you so you don’t pay income tax on the rebate amount. At this point, you are only responsible for the remaining 50% of the system cost minus any rebate amount.

Now you enjoy your own Clean Solar Power!
