Solar Energy

Our sun radiates more energy on the Earth in one hour than the whole world uses in one year. Solar radiation is the most abundant and ubiquitous energy source we have, and it’s free! We can use it to make electricity to heat our homes and our water with very little in the way of system maintenance or emissions. Why not take advantage of all that our sun has to offer us?

Solar is Simple

Once installed, solar systems require very little upkeep. Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems have no moving parts and solar modules have been built to withstand the harsh environment of outer space, being successfully used to power spacecraft devices for decades. There is often no need for batteries in modern PV systems either, we simply hook up to the utility grid.

Solar heated water is easy as well. Systems are relatively inexpensive and provide decades of trouble-free service. They can even work without pumps.

Solar air-heating can help reduce or eliminate your building’s need for a heating system and systems can have payback periods of under one year. The blower motor fans can even be powered by a small PV panel, making the system totally independent.

Solar daylighting infuses your structure with soothing natural light and can also incorporate electrical lighting for nighttime use.

Passive solar building design makes sensible use of the sun and the seasons, giving your structure the best starting point to incorporate renewable energies and be totally self-sufficient. A comfortable 4,000 square foot home with all the modern amenities can be built for less money than a comparable model built in typical style, and it can provide all it’s own power!
